Our apps

Two apps, one foundation.

Both apps share map data, servers and languages. They differ in who fills the map: your team alone – or your team together with the public.

The shared foundation

What all GeoAtrium apps have in common.

Every app runs on the same foundation. When a new app is added, it brings map data, languages, data protection and accessibility with it from day one.

About us

A European home for your map data.

GeoAtrium AB is a Swedish software company based in Svansele, Norsjö Municipality, Västerbotten. We build map software for organisations that do not want to hand over their map data.

The market for map services is dominated by US providers. For a municipality, a museum or an association this means that visitor statistics and location data are held by a company outside the EU legal order, on terms nobody negotiates. GeoAtrium is the alternative: everything runs in the EU, the map data is our own, and you can take your data with you at any time.

We do not aim to be the biggest, but the predictable, legally safe provider – with software that can be used without programming skills, speaks 28 languages and is accessible to people with disabilities.

Frequently asked questions

In short.

What is the difference between the Map Service and the Community Map?

With the Map Service your team maintains the map on its own and embeds it in your website. With the Community Map, citizens, visitors or members also contribute places and photos; your team reviews every contribution. The two apps can be combined.

Where is our data stored?

On servers in a data centre in Nuremberg, Germany. We run the map data, routing and databases ourselves; nothing is passed on to US services and there is no tracking.

Which languages are supported?

28 European languages – from German, English and Swedish to Icelandic, Greek and Ukrainian – in the interface and in the content, at no extra cost.

Do we need GIS skills?

No. You maintain places, images and routes in the browser. Existing data such as Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, GPX or Excel is imported directly; other formats we convert for you.

Can we embed the map in our website?

Yes. The Map Service provides a one-line embed code; the map adjusts its height automatically and only appears on websites you approve. Maps from the Community Map can be embedded as well.

What does GeoAtrium cost?

The Map Service starts at €19 per month (excl. VAT) with a free 30-day trial. The Community Map is free for individuals; a dedicated instance for organisations starts at €39 per month. Non-profit associations and educational institutions receive a 30 % discount.
